Police-Assured Secure Facilities

(PASF)

Overview

The Police Assured Secure Facilities (PASF) program is administered by the Police Digital Service (PDS), whose objective is to help ensure secure cloud computing facilities for UK law enforcement workloads. The Europe (London) Region of Amazon Web Services (AWS) has been independently assessed by a PASF-qualified assessor and meets the PASF requirements for Official-Sensitive data. This demonstrates our continuous commitment to adhere to the heightened expectations of customers with UK law enforcement workloads. Our UK law enforcement customers who require PASF can run their applications in the AWS Cloud certified Region in confidence.

FAQs

The PASF is a long-established certification process, utilized by UK law enforcement, as a method for assuring the security of facilities such as data centers, or other locations housing critical business applications that process or hold police data.

PASF consists of a control set of security requirements, an on-site inspection and an audit interview with representatives of the facility.

PASF assurance consists of an annual inspection of AWS data centers in the Europe (London) Region and is valid for three years.

This alignment with PASF requirements demonstrates our continuous commitment to adhere to the heightened expectations of customers with UK law enforcement workloads. Our UK law enforcement customers who require PASF can run their applications in the AWS Cloud certified Region in confidence.

The Police Digital Service (PDS) confirmed the renewal for AWS on May 24, 2024. A letter confirming PASF status from the Police Digital Service (PDS) can be found on AWS Artifact. The UK police force and law enforcement organizations can also obtain confirmation of the compliance status of AWS through the Police Digital Service.
