IBM NS1 Connect protects your DNS from DDoS attacks with our massively provisioned infrastructure, a distributed network, and auto-scaling capabilities, combined with sophisticated 24/7 monitoring, detection, and filtering capabilities at every level of the protocol stack.
IBM NS1 Connect also offers Dedicated DNS, a redundant network that is physically and logically separated from the primary system, yet managed through a single portal. This option is available as an add-on for customers which want an additional redundant layer of protection from outages.
Finally, IBM NS1 Connect offers DNS for China, ensuring consistent application performance in mainland China.

IBM NS1 Connect offers data-driven tools to optimize traffic in multi-cloud, multi-CDN architectures as an add-on to Managed DNS. The IBM NS1 Connect traffic steering solution combines real-time metrics with automated DNS routing decisions to provide optimized experiences that are resilient and cost-efficient.
IBM NS1 Connect traffic steering is ideal for streaming, gaming, and other services where real-time performance matters. It reduces page load times, download times, and video buffering by leveraging advanced user telemetry and internet performance analysis to steer traffic to high performance CDNs, clouds, or datacenters.
IBM NS1 Connect traffic steering improves resilience through constant monitoring of service availability, combined with automated failover to services with the best performance. Minimize exposure to outages and periods of low availability by using data to drive your multi-cloud, multi-CDN strategy.
IBM NS1 Connect traffic steering gives you highly customizable controls that respond to Real User Monitoring (RUM) data and other service indicators. Manage your entire content delivery system from one fully automated control plane instead of juggling code across multiple platforms.
IBM NS1 traffic steering also uses HTTP-based decisions to provide an ordered list of optimal CDNs for the manifest generator (or player) to consume for streaming content delivery. RUM-based traffic steering is compatible with CDN token authentication and mid-stream switching to release viewers from poor performing CDNs after they start streaming.
