Overview
The Connector gathers and aggregates data from controllers and access points (APs) efficiently and sends aggregated data to Cisco DNA Spaces. The Connector architecture allows multiple controllers and APs to connect to Cisco DNA Spaces through a single point (the Connector). A single Connector can connect to a Cisco Wireless Controller (controller) and a Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controller at the same time.
Highlights
- Enterprise class architecture allows multiple controllers and APs to connect to Cisco DNA Spaces in a highly secured manner through a single point (the Connector).
- Suports both a Cisco Wireless Controller (aireOS) and a Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controller at the same time.
- A single instance supports multiple applications and subscription streams such as IoT Services (BLE), OpenRoaming, Supported controllers for Cisco FastLocate, Supported controllers for Cisco Hyperlocation

Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
- Create EC2 instance from the AMI on AWS -- Select supported EC instance -- Select VPC and subnet -- Select 120GB storage -- Select or create a security group with proper access -- Select or create a key pair for accessing the EC2 instance
- Initial setup -- SSH to the EC2 instance using the key pair used when creating the instance and username ec2-user -- Following instructions to set up password for user spacesadmin -- After first boot ec2-user access will be removed and only spacesadmin user access is allowed by default -- root user access can be enabled on-demand using connectorctl CLI from spacesadmin account
- Configure token -- Log into Cisco DNA Spaces dashboard -- Create a connector and copy the token provided during creation -- Launch connector local UI: https://<Connector-IP-Address>> -- Tunnel might be needed if the connector is only available via private IP address -- Configure the token via the connector UI
- Other configurations -- Perform all other configurations by following the Cisco DNA Spaces Connector Configuration Guide: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/spaces/connector/config/b_connector_30.html
Note: Current AMI release supports all in place connector upgrades and services upgrade from cloud. However any security upgrades will be released as new AMI and customer needs to deploy new AMI to address security updates. We are working on addressing this limitation in coming AMI release.
