The Trusted Advisor Program (TAP) is a service providing application delivery and security expertise to meet your needs in the way that works best for you. The service includes passes for remote services, enabling you to select the options that align best with your technical or business requirements.

TAP experts have the technical and business knowledge, education, and experience to help architect, deploy, maintain, and optimize F5 solutions in an as-directed fashion. F5 NGINX experts can help address immediate challenges while adhering to recommended practices and providing the customer with the insights needed to satisfy the you F5 solution requirements.

What Can I Use TAP For?

TAP streamlines your access to the full range of the Professional Services portfolio for any of F5’s branded products (F5® Distributed Cloud Services, F5 BIG-IP®, and F5 NGINX). The portfolio of services includes:

• Solution development
• Service and/or project planning
• Architecture, deployments, and migrations
• Maintenance and configuration activities
• Troubleshooting activities
• Assessments
• Application services
• Programmability/orchestration services
• CI/CD Integrations
• Mentoring and configuration guidance
• Security policy configuration and modifications

Example use cases, such as:

• Basic standalone (or HA) NGINX Plus deployments involving NGINX as a reverse proxy/LB for a handful of applications/APIs – NGINX App Protect WAF and DoS add-ons.
• Enabling caching on existing HA or standalone setup, along with accompanying functionality testing and production rollout assistance
• Review/Assessment of one existing standalone or HA pair, with accompanying documentation, and some time for remediation (both standard and premium)
• NMS/Instance Manager/NGINX Plus deployments.
• NGINX App Protect and Security Monitoring add-ons
• Ingress Controller Deployment for path based routing for up to five services
• NGINX Plus / NGINX Plus Ingress Controller for Kubernetes API Gateway use cases (such as - rate limiting, client authentication, TLS termination, request routing, load balancing)
• NGINX Plus-specific performance optimizations (such as - worker processes, buffer sizes, timeouts, content caching, compression)
• NGINX Plus security hardening (such as - SSL/TLS optimization –weak SSL/TLS protocol and cipher suite disable, implement chain certs)

With the TAP program, customers will have access to F5 experts who possess in-depth knowledge of F5 products, throughout the duration of the 12-month service period.

Additionally, customers interested in taking advantage of F5 Training services may exchange TAP services for Education Services Training Units, enabling them to gain essential knowledge from F5’s Education Services trainers. TAP complements F5 Support agreement(s) by assisting with new configurations not covered in the existing service agreement.
