OpenVPN server is very easy to setup and connect.
What do you like best about the product?
Best thing about OpenVPN server is the connectivity, accessibility and its ease of use. It does not get disconnected even after you put laptop in sleep mode. Also its better than GlobalConnect VPN because that used to take lot of time to connect.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only thing i disliked about OpenVPN is its support team, our devops team had to call them again and again for a single issue that is we wanted to increase limit of number of our connections.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had to access our sandbox and production server and we wanted to do it in secure way to increase security level we used OpenVPN this way not all people were able to access our servers even though in case credentials got leaked.

A robust and simple VPN solution
What do you like best about the product?
We are using open vpn since many years to secure the access to our internal network.
It is a very simple & robust solution
The IT team administrate the solution, and every time we have a login / password pb they found a solution.
We are hosting the solution on our own servers, so it is a very cheap solution.

quite easy setup and use
What do you like best about the product?
Easy setup options. First time I used OpenVPN for TryHackMe to access the TryHackMe virtual device. It was quite easy to set up as a begineer. One can save multiple access key files for different purpose.
What do you dislike about the product?
It keeps running in the background even if you are not accessing any VM right now. It drains the battery.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It creates a private tunnel to access the resources. Suppose I am working from home and I want to use my office PC that has more processing power. -- To access that pc privately I would connect it via VPN to maintain my privacy and prevent data leaks.

Open VPN - Simple to Setup and use as Admin and End User
What do you like best about the product?
The end user software is simple for non-tech team members to install and follow the guidance provided by the support team. So implementing a VPN of this type is made easier than with other softwares we've used before.
What do you dislike about the product?
The application (on Mac) can disappear behind other windows, although the toolbar icon is helpful if you remember it's there, this means you can remain connected when you were finished using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to connect the entire team to our office network. This has been vital during the pandemic to allow staff to connect to servers and files when not in the office. The security bulit into OpenVPN means these connections are secure, simple and safe.

OpenVPN is a great tool to gain connection across multiple VPNs
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use OpenVPN to access various VPNs (if needed). The tool allows you to have a real-time pulse on the connection and can connect with Google Authenticator for verification purposes. It also allows you to add multiple profiles in case you need to toggle across different VPNs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Often times OpenVPN can have zero activity across the connection stats portion of the tool, despite constant connection with the VPN source. This creates confusion on whether or not there are any Internet connectivity issues or blockers related to the VPN.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OpenVPN helps users safely and securely connect to workplace servers via VPN. This has been crucial in the transition to remote work, to ensure everyone has the access they need without any security risks.

Non-invasive VPN Software
What do you like best about the product?
I like that OpenVPN is quite easy to setup. I use OpenVPN at my company in order to access internal files and portals that are only open to those on the VPN. "Logging in" to the VPN is as simple as typing in a username and password that I create, then gaining access. One thing I also appreciate is that every once and so often, OpenVPN will remind me to change my password. In addition, some VPNs significantly slow down internet browsing speed, which I have not noticed at all with this software.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I understand this is the nature of the beast, I don't like that I have to login with my username and password EVERY time I login to my computer. I would hope that there are certain ways to detect that it is in fact me accessing the software. I've also had the VPN abruptly disconnect at times, requiring me to re-login in order to access needed files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Information security, really. I'm not on the IT team but I've never had issues with security, hacks, phising, et-cetera.

What about the security
what about the security who takes care of it

Simple and Easy
Used this AMI to replace our existing DirectAccess infrastructure (Windows) and am pretty happy with the reliability and performance of the product.
It is easy to use and setup as long as you have some VPN knowledge. However, the reporting capabilities can be lacking (i.e. I have no idea if we hit our licensing limit at a given time) and wish they offered a failover mode support for AWS.
Regardless, i'm happy about the switchover.
