Wide open Functionality anything is possible
What do you like best about the product?
With Spotfire, if you can think of a viz or functionality you would like to do it is possible to implement
What do you dislike about the product?
The wide-open nature of the tool leads to complexity of implementation, developers need to understand .xml, java, python, r and also the spotfire syntax/ table structure

Dashboards and Viz.

Be sure to connect reguallary with Tibco and have a strong understanding of the various coding languages required

Very flexible dashboard visualization tool.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the best on Spotfire the ability to integrate javascript libraries easily. It will enable you to create custom visualizations. Also the data handling in javascripts is very good because spotfire will give it to you in JSON format.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like on Spotfire is sometimes it crashed and you cannot do anything to restore your changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tibco spotfire help us deliver limitless dashboard. We are able to deliver any type of visualization demand.

Spotfire is a recommended software very flexible and scalable.

It is very friendly user and helps you to be more organized with classification and analysis of data, it also has an option to have a statistical analysis and prediction.
What do you dislike about the product?
The statistical area, for example trend lines, prediction and forecast is not so explicit to use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Steamflooding evaluation based on the correlation of 56 properties (reservoir, geological, operational) for 40 fields worldwide, by recreating trend lines and agruppation of data to have a better analysis of the phenomena seen in the text.

The data analytic capabilities of spot fire.

The GUI/interface of Spotfire can be improved. Furthermore, complexity can be reduced.

Spotfire helps our business visual the data provided to us. Through visualization, we are better able to communicate our numbers.

Powerful Data Analytics Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Allows me to integrate multiple sources of data into a single database, look at five variables at the same time, and to instantly switch between different variables and visualize them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ternary diagrams are missing, and it currently requires some awkward manipulation of two dimensions using trigonometry to display such a diagram. Also, displaying photos associated with data points, besides the tooltip, is currently beyond the skills of regular users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spotfire was used by my organization mainly to analyze geological and oil production data and gain insight in order to address current challenges and make future decisions. It is used across the whole organization on an as-needed basis.

Cannot currently fault. Spotfire is vastly better than any other tool I have used and so much easier to produce fantastic visualisations

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use combined with powerful analytics and beautiful visuals. So intuitive. My analytics graduate students learn it so fast and are experts in building graphs in one session!
What do you dislike about the product?
Most of the students have Macs - so the fact that we can't use a desktop version is always a disappointment to me and my students.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using it in a data visualization and visual analysis graduate course. Have used it for many years. Just using the cloud version as most of the students have Macs.

Be able to implement R codes into Spotfire

I am new on where to look for help. The community is OK, but when trying to install libraries or have to debug my R code I do not where to kook for help or examples. I need to do a Google/StackOverflow search to be able to adapt my problem to what's been published.

Decline Curve Analysis and generating user friendly dashboards.

What do you like best about the product?
Everything. Fluid and very easy to analyze large data sets. Increases productivity 10 fold. Much better tool to use versus excel. By being able to bring in large amounts of data easily, it has made my life much better and more productive. Easiliy calcualting columns and visualing data. Mapping is so much easier when compared to other softwares.
What do you dislike about the product?
If there was an easier way to join certain data tables and possibly create fluid relationships. Better accessibility to TERR tools that have been created by the community. If the column functions had some more examples or if Tibco outputted a dashboard with examples of everything that would help as well. Connecting to SQL servers is kind of nonintuitive and a lot of duplicated connections can be made. Also, speeding up the import process of very large excel files would make things a bit better. I've had to migrate data to SQL just because it takes 5 minutes to open the dashboard. Being able to intersect shapefiles with marker data as a relation would be really useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Production engineering, reservoir engineering, and completions engineering. Analyzing designs and finding trends in big data. Benifits are that is much easier analyzing big data in spotfire versus excel. It makes excel seem outdated and less useful than it was in the past. Easier to view SQL as well.

If you want to analyze data fast and efficiently this is the best way to go.
