Domotz network monitoring success story
What do you like best about the product?
Daily reports, and monthly reports for customers. Really helps me see who is having connectivity issues. Been especially helpful with remote workers as it is easy to see if it's a problem at the user end, which it almost always is.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fulfilled all expectations and requirements to date, so far so good. Nothing really to dislike at this point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most of my clients are not using business-class ISP services so this helps tremendously in monitoring downtime and diagnosing issues. I can also get more quickly to any network issues on the customers with business fiber.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool for monitoring multiple locations. I use it every day and getting the daily updates is invaluable.

Long setup time for detailed setup and hard to setup SNMP

Limits downtime for clients systems.

It is worth the effort to setup correctly the time and frustration saved on downtime is amazing.

What do you like best about the product?
Incredibly user friendly and easy to navigate, frequent webinars providing useful information on integrations and how to best utalize new tools. There is a wide variety of features and notification customizations we have yet to explore and look forward to experimenting with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Aside from the occassional lag in loading the desktop app, we are incredibly satisfied with the program.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to quickly diagnose network peformance issues as well as check statuses of devices to provide clients with a swift explanation of problem and provide our technicians with a sense of direction on how to solve any issues in the shortest time frame
Helps monitor remote networks.
What do you like best about the product?
Domotz can monitor all devices on your networks and notifies you when critical devices go offline. It also monitors your ISP connection for speed and reliability. When a new device is noticed, you get an email telling you something new is online. Domotz can interface with devices for SNMP alerts. I have been using Domotz to monitor my clients since December of 2018. I currently host the agent on Raspberry Pi devices located within my client's networks. I can hit every VLAN in the network from these Pis.
What do you dislike about the product?
Programming SNMP alerts can be challenging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to notify clients that their ISP is down before they call me. This has resolved a lot of panic calls to me before the client is aware of the problem.

does not support sophos, does not support all hp switches

Domotz Box and service is an excellent product and worth every penny
What do you like best about the product?
Domotz is an economical device and service and rthitis wos weight in gld. It does what much more expensive products do (like Auvik) at a fraction the cost.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hmmmm.... I with it integrated better with Syncro and Addigy.... would like to be able to mute some alerts. I'd like it to use speedtest.net for Internet speed tests.I don't think the MLAB results are very accurate. I would like a discount for implementing more Domotz boxes. Eventually I expect about 50 clients to have them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Domotz tells me when things go down and come back upquickly. It helps with my service efficiency for clients. When a problem arises, I find out quickly and either fix it myself or alert a client to do something, like a device reboot. I also use it in conjuction with a IP PDU (internet connected power strip) and I can reboot devices myself as needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Domotz is not just a product to use by itself. Integrate it with your RMM / PSA, a good PDU, and a firewall. Use Domotz to gain more insight in client networks and dazzle your clients!
A platform to build or augment your off-site support and maintenance services
What do you like best about the product?
Our company uses multiple enterprise-level products to monitor and service the networks we install for our clients. The Domotz platform snaps in perfectly to provide additional remote monitoring services that are not offered by the other products and services we use. We tried other remote monitoring services before going with Domotz. The other services do not offer the same capabilities that Domotz brings to the table.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, the platform offers all of the services and capabilities you would want from a network monitoring platform. However, no platform or service is without issues or shortcomings. Occasionally you will get logged out of the Domotz app and have to walk through the sign-in process again. We have found times where the offline and online timestamps do not match up with what took place. It could be due to the time between events or the number of events taking place at one time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Domotz platform is one of the primary pillars in our remote support and recurring monthly revenue offering. The platform allows us to actively monitor the networks of all the clients that purchase our remote monitoring service. We can use Domotz to identify and resolve issues promptly and sometimes resolve the issue before the client is even aware that an event took place.
Domotz is an extremely useful tool.
What do you like best about the product?
I love haveing a central point to log in and see all devices on my various networks from a single location.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like the price structure now was quite a jump from what I was in the past, but I can live with it since my devices are grandfathered in at the old rates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for a quick visualization of what devices are online and offline. I also use the remote access feature to log into devices when I am away and need to fix something in a pinch.

* I’d love for Domotz to have phone support as a default or an option to choose from instead of email support. It is actually available if requested but not as a default. Even if I have to wait for a call back, the verbal interaction would save so much back and forth time when you’re on the run like we all are most of the time.

Easy to deploy, easy to use, affordable, priced for the SMB

Domotz hardware can only be purchased through Amazon Italy, don't speak italian yet
