Redhat Enterprise Linux -one of the safest and scalable environments for your data
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to run it on both Intel and AMD cpus with different architectures and the security it packages alongside cloud capability for developing scalable apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
The subscription price is quite high for small enterprises.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Syncing real data from a cloud environment. RedHat helped us to utilize a cloud model that was secure and fast to sync real time data to enhance performance and communication.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is one of the best. Cloud enabled. Very secure.
The most stable OS for servers
What do you like best about the product?
We use RHEL for most of our servers and private cloud. It's the most stable OS out there for professionals.
Updates are easy to do with no downtime and support is knowledgeable and ready to help.

People with no *unix experience might have a hard time getting the hang of things some experience is required. A support contract is not cheap.

We use RHEL daily for all different kind of servers. It works flawlessly on our virtualization platform we can get a working, stable RHEL server in minutes.

Try it out for free, play around with it. Do a lot of tests before going live with it.

I like the versatility of the system, especially how yum has improved greatly upon RPM.

The yum package manager is still clumsier than apt, and theres not much fundamentally different from Fedora.

Message parsing and database system backends.

I love how powerful it is, compared to how little resources it uses. Very small footprint

What I dislike is how extremely picky Linux can be. I love Linux, but case sensitivity with files and paths can get annoying.

We use it for our vulnerability scanner. It runs extremely fast!
Best operating system to run applications
What do you like best about the product?
Security at its best. We are using Red Hat Enterprise Linux on our physical database servers and virtual application servers. Our infrastructure supports an ERP solution. We have a couple of choices based on what the ERP supports, and we decided to use Red Hat Enterprise Linux to host our database, applications, and backup infrastructure. Red Hat Enterprise Linux is quite affordable and very well suited for enterprise solutions. Plenty of online resources are available if you ever run into issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Other linux distros have greatly improved user experience and GUI, I think RHEL mostly prefers terminal over GUI.

6. It identifies a wide range of hardware and enables them with the generic drivers available.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
RedHat Enterprise Linux is being used as an operating system on nodes of a Hadoop cluster, where the product is being developed, deployed and testing against huge quantities of data. Also, the RHEL VMs are being used as a development environment which eases out the need for individual development environment making the tasks of development hassle free.

Please keep the Linux spirit alive and don't let the bureaucrats take over.
