Best git tool for version controlling of your code
What do you like best about the product?
The UI interface for git is very user-friendly and clear. Also, there is a feature where you can make groups and divide your projects into those groups. That feature is super useful. It's easy to integrate with any CI/CD pipeline.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the UI lags when there is a huge number of commits at a time. That is the only thing that I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using GitLab to maintain version control, integrations with Jenkins, and code review for all of our projects. Benefits are - it is easy to use, has great UI experience, and offers some unique features like grouping projects.

Good version control application for standalone business
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to install and work for business purposes
What do you dislike about the product?
Less nos of features, like ticketes and doc linked to code review.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Code review and maintenance of version control for my project
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good software to use user-friendly
A very Effective Devops and SCM Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Great UI to manage GIT workflows such as merges, reviews, pipelines and devops
What do you dislike about the product?
There should be more flexibility in merge requests in order to manage which branch the request would be merged to - for instance, once the code has been merged to a test branch and testing has finished - then there could be an option to merge the code to the master branch. However currently merge requests are very basic in nature
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing our codebase through Gitlab. Allowing multiple users to contribute to multiple projects.
Good tool for version control
What do you like best about the product?
They have a really good version control console. Helps to clone the repo easily and open it directly in the visual studio code editor.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think there is any specific downside. Very good company with good features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for version control. Helps me to maintain the code repository and apply version control to that code. Also, I can also run CI/CD pipelines on GitLab runner. It helps in automating things.
Straightforward version control everyone can use
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab is the golden standard for version control. It is straightforward and provides a web interface for users that may need to merge code or updates but may not be familiar with branch structure/versions. It also allows you to merge at the terminal level as well which provides a faster and expert level of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Few controls are in place that one can select or create before a merge is allowed. While it does integrate into Jira very well, it doesn't have direct global control on merges.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Version control is made efficient and easy, and a legible history of the software is laid bare with GitLabs logs.
Gitlab is great, fun to work with
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is best, compared to other git tools
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is tough to tag up with secured materials with passwords
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work on developing software with this, for collaboration within teams I use that
Best solution if you are concerned about your source code being on other's servers
What do you like best about the product?
Project status board, issue tracker and CI/CD solutions
What do you dislike about the product?
Buggy web interface, but sometimes multiple refreshes come handy
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Self-hosting our sensitive repositories
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it, unless if you are OK with other organizations having a way to peek at your proprietary code
Great Developer Experience
What do you like best about the product?
The Gitlab CI Pipelines features are excellent. You don't have to worry about one tool for source code version control and another for Continous Integrations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see more enhanced and lower-grained access control. Also the CI Variables security can be better protected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Gitlab for version control and continuous integration and deployment.
First time Gitlab User
