What do you like best about the product?
I most like ubuntu for its size.
It is lightweight.
Ui is better.
Development software like docker is easy to use.
FingerPrint support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited software is supported.
Most of thing you have to do with cmd line
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As per the developer, I need to run servers.
With another os, you need to do extra stuff to work on software.
In ubuntu, you can customize all the things easy from boot to everything.

Fast and Much Features

  • January 11, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is one of the best Operating Systems available in the market because, along with all Linux features, it gives more control and familiarity even if you switch from windows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it lags or stuck when you don't manage ram utilization properly, but after a proper configuration, also it freezes sometimes in a non-responding manner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using it to develop and deploy some applications. Mainly I have been using it for the FullStack Development part. The main features that inspire me to use are speed and control over threads.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need light and fast OS and need more control over processes, go for it.

Easiest linux in the playgound

What do you like best about the product?
What I found most helpful about Ubuntu is the user base of it, generally, if I face an issue working on ubuntu, I do what we all do, search online, and bam first 2-3 links will provide a sureshot solution of the issue being faced. A good working community is the best thing.
There are minor things that I personally like more for other OS but overall ubuntu is what I select to work upon.
What do you dislike about the product?
For dislikes, the list is not very big, in fact not even a list, just a few minor niggles here and there are what sometimes makes life difficult for an ubuntu user. But it is just a small portion of it, most of the things are hasslefree and solutions are readily available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been using ubuntu 20 Focal fossa as our go-to os for deploying applications when done in a standalone environment. It is way more comfortable, at least for me as a DevOps person to work my way around things and set up a ready-to-use environment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My only recommendation is that it looks difficult but once you get into it, at times it is easier than windows.

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Perfect for Programmers

  • November 01, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Among many exciting features, it has Kernel 5.4, which offers support for ExFAT files and better Thunderbolt integration. Also, Ubuntu is open source, and because of this, the vast community of developers quickly addresses and resolves errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Most open-source software which runs on Ubuntu Linux is quite compatible, but it doesn't always work, and you're on your own to figure out why.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Ubuntu as my primary operating system, and I find it helpful and manageable while working on development projects when compared to windows. Most of the things come pre-installed on Ubuntu, and in case if it is not, you can easily install them on your system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ubuntu is a very reliable and simple-to-use operating system. It specifies installation, graphic environment, and just command-line roles and profiles.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy Installation, improved GUI and security. Ubuntu 20.04 LTS is GUI is little bit easy to operate. Most of the operations can be performed on GUI only.
What do you dislike about the product?
When we were using the older versions, it worked smoothly on a less hardware configuration, but now hardware upgrading is required. Some windows-based applcations do not work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We got rid of Microsoft licensing compliances and extras subscription costs of operating system and office licensing.
There is no requirement for antivirus. Ransomware attacks also generally do not work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ubuntu is best choice for Non-profit organization, Schools,College and , Universities. It solves all necessary problems and purpose of daily life. Instead of supporting piracy like illegal practices adopting Ubuntu is a good choice.

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is user friendly and good for beginners to start their career. Very smooth fast. Can help you out with your local deployment testing before going live on any public cloud. The terminal is so simple with detail directories in which you are working can easily see and set them as per your needs. I have set up kubernetes docker nginx Apache on it and that was so smooth to set them up and use them for my company task that were assigned to me. Ubuntu was my first OS of linux other than windows and i am still enjoying it and planning to move towards it completely it is so responsive easy and being open source is cherry on the cake.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike every thing is perfect. More apps supoort will be appreciated. Can be bit more user-friendly which will help me atleast to set few things easily without googling them how to set them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a beginner in DevOps field and i am getting huge benefits out of it testing my deployments on local and etc. Because of open source it is for me to keep my things running smooth. I am still working with it and hope so it will help me out more in future so i can write another review how Ubuntu helped me in my day to day task ,work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Preferred for beginners and one who loves to use linux rather than windows.

Ubuntu: The OS to beat!

  • July 02, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Operating System has come a long way and is far more user-friendly than previous versions. I can appreciate how the user interface is far more modernized, but yet the OS still has the power and customization available from the command line. Also, the fact that it is very accessible make for more creativity. I also don't have to purchase separate programs when it comes to security.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike some of the default settings in the Operating System, especially around security. I think they should revisit their reasons for creating this OS and not necessarily have to be like their competitors when it comes to ease of use. I also believe the OS, although a lite version, is a bit too lite? Its purpose is probably geared towards more for containerization, but it should probably advertised as such.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am working mostly off of the commandline and monitoring services for security related tasks. My love for this OS began in school and its powerful capability on the command line and its built-in systems/programs makes it a stand-alone well capable system. We have used it for containerization and monitoring packets as well as creating sandbox environments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ubuntu is my favourite Operating System. It pretty much does everything else the others can do, but it is free and more customizable. If you love working from the command line, and using containerization, then this is the OS to work from. I think that if you are a security/cyber security professional, this is the first place where you want to start to do the majority of your work. Not only do most of the security related programs come equipped at no extra cost, it can perform at a high level.

  • May 01, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about ubuntu 20.4 LTS is that we can install various software with few commands
What do you dislike about the product?
The disliked feature of Ubuntu 20.4 LTS is that we as a cannot install many softwares as some of the software is not compatible with Ubuntu
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem of managing the task in synchronised as a priority queue can be managed by kernel and name spacing as well as control groups can splits and limit the resources for each task respectively
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommended others to use Ubuntu as a OS
