It brought a lot of confidence to our team.
What is most valuable?
* High availability
* Zero maintenance, to double up things.
What needs improvement?
The cost needs improvement. The product is good, but the cost that we paid for it is expensive, so it wasn't that valuable.
For how long have I used the solution?
Less than one year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The reliability is good.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is reliable. We have a small environment right now.
How was the initial setup?
The integration and configuration of this product in our AWS environment were easy and straightforward.
AWS works well with this application, but that is the only thing we have tested. We are happy with it.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Purchasing through the AWS Marketplace was easy and seamless. We chose the AWS Marketplace because it is a brand name and a popular product.
It is too expensive. They need to work on this.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I also evaluated the open source version of this same product, but chose the AWS version for more reliability and enterprise support.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend the product.

What needs improvement?
The cost needs improvement.
For how long have I used the solution?
Three to five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability is fine.
How is customer service and technical support?
We use technical support quite frequently. The tech support experiences that I have heard anecdotally have been fine. I haven't heard about any issues of getting problems resolved.
We are mostly using technical support because of changes in deployments and learning how to configure new things. While a lot of the work is done in-house, it is more about extending the capabilities of our internal team.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Pricing could always be better.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I am sure that they evaluated other products, but it's been in deployment since I have been with the company. Therefore, I don't know if they looked at other types of databases at that time.
What other advice do I have?
It is a great product. It works fine, so we recommend it. We are continuing to use and expand it.
Right now, MongoDB is deployed for a very specific use case. However, it is something that we always consider when we are looking to migrate away from traditional RDBMS, like Oracle and SQL Server, then MongoDB is on the top of that list. We see if it is capable of supporting the app as written.
I was not involved in the implementation or configuration.
Easy to backup your databases.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to backup your databases.
Very simple to use. Good GUI.
Continuous backup of queries and oplog.

Continuous backup of queries and oplog.
What do you dislike about the product?
No control on backup data. It is stored in MongoDB cloud.
Cost depends on the size of the data and the amount of oplog changes.
Cost depends on the size of the data and the amount of oplog changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides point-in-time restore, continuous and online backup solution as a fully managed service.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You simply install the Cloud Manager agent to manage backup and restore of your database. It will store your backup data in MongoDB cloud.
Our queries are quicker with it. It is also very easy to use.
We use it for hosting data on the cloud.
How has it helped my organization?
It enables us to get work done quickly and get to our data. It benefits us by providing performance.
What is most valuable?
* As a user, it is very easy to use. There is nothing complicated.
* We can write queries and go through it very quickly; our queries are quicker with it.
* Many tools are there. Other companies are providing many tools for getting to your MongoDB.
What needs improvement?
The import and export process needs improvement, i.e., getting in and out. Moving data from other databases into MongoDB, along with indexing, was challenging. However, it has been improving.
I would like them to make the product easier to use.
For how long have I used the solution?
Three to five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We are happy right now with stability unless something goes wrong down the line. In that case, you have to bite the bullet.
In terms of workloads, we put 60 to 80 percent on it.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
So far, so good. However, we have had issues with our VPC, and how we have stored on S3 and our instances that we have with MongoDB. We are learning as we are building more capacity.
Our environment is utility customers, which is millions of meters, and each one has their own instance. We obtain that data for every 15 minutes in a big city environment, which is why performance is very important.
How is customer service and technical support?
The technical support is good. We have received very good feedback.
How was the initial setup?
The integration and configuration were pretty easy. We loved it. Otherwise, we would have changed databases.
What was our ROI?
We have definitely seen ROI.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The purchasing process through the AWS Marketplace was very good.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I was involved later on in the evaluation process when we were looking to import and export data out of MongoDB. We looked at MySQL, but we wanted to be on the cloud instead of managing our data on MySQL.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend it. It is better than the legacy databases, and it is very good with the cloud.
best one to use for a MongoDB
What do you like best about the product?
the insights are the best in this and the ability to be able to receive alerts is also great.
It is really valuable to monitor and troubleshoot when in issues.

What do you dislike about the product?
MongoDB itself is not that great in the cloud(AWS)..its expensive, not so optimized and the list goes on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To monitor the data pipilene's database performance.
Reduce human error. Save time and money.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's not easy to use, for me it's better Studio 3T, but Studio 3T is not free :(
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's nice for monitoring mongo db, you can have access to all your mongo db in one manager.
Recommendations to others considering the product:

MongoDB - My Favorite NoSQL DB
What do you like best about the product?
Having a background in object oriented programming, I found MongoDB to be easy to understand from a conceptual level. Unlike SQL based DB's, it is based on BSON (Binary JSON), which allows you to create more dynamic schemas and data structures.Instead of using tables and rows, you use collections and documents, which makes sense in an Object Oriented programming environment. As part of the MEAN stack, MongoDB goes perfectly with Node.JS projects, which can be used for both web and mobile application development. Overall, it is flexible, easy to use, and with an understanding of JavaScript, very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mongo may not be the best solution for running large complex transactions. You may also have issues migrating from a SQL based solution to Mongo, without careful planning. I would recommend for new projects, not necessarily legacy solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MongoDB Atlas to manage DB Clusters of cloud based MongoDB instances, along with MongoDB Compass. With the tool I am able to manage users, set up teams and set back ups. There is also various charting tools you can use for visualization services (ala Tableau or Google Datastudio).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
MongoDB has great training tools and courses you can enroll into. I highly recommend signing up for the courses, which can take 5-8 weeks to complete. Great tools and resources, which I was very satisfied with!
An effective solution to manage user data
What do you like best about the product?
SQL cannot handle every use case. The nice thing about MongoDB is the ability to store large blobs of data in easily accessible ways, in order to grab this information quickly and efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is *very* particular for its use case. The important thing is to make sure you know what you're using it for, and trying to change DB structure after initial setup can be brutal. Having the data remote means it's harder to diagnose and fix issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing user data accessible by a user ID - save data
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I see a lot of people trying to decide between SQL and NoSQL DB structures; both of them have their uses, and both use cases are absolutely valid and necessary. Be mindful about the way you want your data structured, and then having the right tools for that. The Cloud Manager makes it easier to monitor issues and to keep track of your usage.
Mongo has the best cluster.
What do you like best about the product?
It was so easy to create and handle the cluster. Also, when it comes to bring the data into the server, works really fast. The Live Migration Service is a free service that allows you to migrate data to Mongo and you should live this awesome experience when it comes to Data migration, that Mongo provides. I want to mention, as well, that you can pause the cluster, whenever you want, and the price is lower, which is great for when you are not using it. Mongo has a great Support service, all the tickets have a quick response.
What do you dislike about the product?
The referral program is a little bit complicated. Even though the program is awesome to motivate you to share Mongo with colleagues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You can create several clusters and save a bunch of information. It is great for Data science.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would higly recommend the M10 cluster.
MongoDB Cloud Manager Easy To Use
What do you like best about the product?
switching versions is very simple and smooth and it takes a very short time. I also like that I can see all of my different database servers in a very short time. A good backup strategy is a critical part of any database management system. MongoDB offers many options for backups and recovery/restore. Along with a good backup method, it is very important to have multiple replicas of the database. This helps to restore the database without having the downtime of even one second.
I also found that reporting and real-time are too much useful especially to determine server problem, that helps me a lot

What do you dislike about the product?
On the size of Data cost effects.
Do not have store procedure application logic in the MongoDB.
Slow restoring process.
Sometimes for larger databases, the backup process can be very resource intensive.
The backup process can increase the load on the server because of these reasons so you should run the backup process during the nights or non-peak hours.
