Maximo Affect on my Position
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that there are multiple portlets for the different aspects that we utilize within my company. We have numerous instances of Maximo running and the systems allows us to gather the necessary data in an organized fashion to be able to compile and report on our data.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the fact that it doesn't integrate with our remedy ticketing system. We use the Service Request portal and would love to integrate it with remedy so that we can easily report out on the tickets we receive.

Maximo Supports our business for asset management bringing everything together.
What do you like best about the product?
Our end users like that much of the data is integrated including assets, inventory, and procurement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some times a challenge to support and upgrade. The MUGs help provide insight into what others are doing in this area which is useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Assess management, inventory, spares, parts, work orders, etc .

It is easy to configure to fit the needs of individual clients - each power plant has a few tweaks they need and Maximo can do this.

There are a lot of "tricks" you need to learn to use it properly

Easy of use and the flexiblity of the porduct. The multiple products available to the clients

The cost of the licensing and the year over year cost to renew

The product is not cheap and we did were not very smart in the amount of licenses we bought

Maximo the most complete and flexible CMMS on the market

I really like the fact that you can configure eveyrhing in Maximo , no need to program code.

Some add-ons still need some improvements

Able to put in place a good asset management program. Able to efficiently follow a preventive maintenance program. At the end of the day, equipment are more reliable.
Best Work Order Management
What do you like best about the product?
The best work order management available in the market. Maximo is world leader in Work order and PMs modules.
What do you dislike about the product?
The application designer is the worst product in the entire maximo environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Maximo for Work order and asset mangement, PMs and Procurement. Maximo is the best when it comes to Work order management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would strongly suggest Maximo for Work order, PMs, Asset Management.
Maximo Streamlines Compliance Activities/Issues with Anywhere and Spatial.

Maximo has significantly improved work management for our field employees and compliance.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have been unable to get Maximo Anywhere and Maximo Spatial working. We had made some strides in getting Spatial working, but then that got broken with a Maximo update to the product. IBM doesn't seem to support the Anywhere and Spatial products like they do the main Maximo product. Currently bugs in both products are delaying/preventing a rollout.
Maximo now has a Cognos offering, but little is shared about how that can be integrated with our existing Cognos implementation. In fact, I have been unable to get information from Maximo, and the Cognos team differs to the Maximo team.

Work managemenet for all of the field employees. Simplified and streamline entry of Safety, Security and Pipeline events. streamlined management of the company's fleet; Improved maintenance of our Compressor stations. We would like to further enable the field with mobility and access to our GIS/PODS data, but the Anywhere and Spatial products are not working.
