Amazing Support
What do you like best about the product?
Their support team, bar none, is the best i've worked with. They go above and beyond to not only answer your question, but use that question to further improve their product.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't a good mobile experience. This makes it a bit annoying to show pages from Instana to team members on phones during outages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instana provides us a wholistic view of all of our hosted services and third party dependencies. We have been able to use it to reduce our mean time to diagnose from hours to minuets.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend some time understanding OpenTracing/OpenCensus/OpenTelemetry. There is a lot of value in getting custom tracing going with their search tools.

Instana is one of the best APM products on the market
What do you like best about the product?
Works well with containers and priced well. Easy to install in our container environment. Intuitive interface. Easy to see any ongoing issues. We are able to send alerts to Slack.
What do you dislike about the product?
We initially reached out shortly after hearing about them at re:Invent. It did take a bit of time to get back with us probably due to the volume of the requests. Once we connected and did a proof of concept everything went well. For the most part, issues were addressed quickly, but a few times it took a while to address an issue, but over the past year everything has been going smoothly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company is all cloud-based and while we've used APM products in the past at other companies we didn't have one here. We had been moving to containers for the past year and we were looking for an APM product that would work well with containers and where we could see the overall health of the system. Didn't know what we'd see exactly, but did see some slow running calls that we could address...and started catching container restarts almost immediately. We then started using the java metrics to help track down some memory issues. Our systems are fairly stable now, but jump on Instana alerts when they show up in Slack.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We looked at other solutions alongside of Instana and the ease of use and quick install and pricing fit us very well. Anyone using containers would appreciate using Instana.

That instana comes up with a lot o metrics and information without configurations.
What do you dislike about the product?
That the agents need root access to run perfectly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In daily business we benefit from the messages "Disks fill up faster", "Disk will be fill in x Hours".
We also identify network problems and JDK Problems (CPU Starvation).

Automatic APM
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to install in different infraestructures. The alerts are automatic and have preconfigure conditions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Does not have a mobile application for check the information on the go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Find the root cause faster, understand dependencies between systems and get alerts when something is wrong.

What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to install Instana, very little configuration is needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have 2 Instana tenants, one for Production, and one for everything else. There is no built-in way to move configurations and settings between these two tenants. This is a nuisance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring and observability. With Instana we are able to find and detect issues. With the ability to add custom rules and notifications we can alert internally of a problem before it is reported by customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great product, and pretty easy on the budget. Instana is moving fast, and very interesting things appear to be on the horizon.

There are lot many features which makes this tool easy convenient and best in market to seamless monitoring of the whole infra on platform:
1) Easy for implementation.
2) Best User Interface: Best in class User Interface, Users can just hover over things or can query the things needed.
3) You can set up configurations for monitoring Servers, endpoints, Micro services, Processes, Databases and almost everything.
4) Comparison Tables: Compare all the servers and services at a glance with comparison table.
5) Integration for alerts: You can get the alerts on Slack for convenient and effective monitoring and also can be integrated with OpsGenie, AWS, Grafana.
6) Filters like choosing date and time to get the details for the specified time period.
7) Automated Discovery - It automatically detects if any of the servers are added or removed.
8) Detailed graphs
9) Last but not least is 24/7 support from Instana.

What do you dislike about the product?
Its been a while that me and my team are using this tool for infrastructure monitoring but as of now we did not came across any such flaw with the tool. The only thing I can say is bit hard for understanding for beginners.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have set different monitors for monitoring the infra of the one of the robust platform and we just have to look at the screen for checking the status of any of the Pods.

Yes I would surely recommend this tool for seamless monitoring of the infrastructure.

What do you like best about the product?

Infrastructure map could be more informative as a landing page upon logged in
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives us the necessary views on the health of our the applications and also the hosts (which has been a problem especially on its storage space that flooded by logs which we had to do cleanups from time to time)

If you are into simpler yet sufficient monitoring on a glance, this is perfect
Awesome Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Its intricate details. It has all the features one should have in a monitoring tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing as such one should not like in this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Capacity hit, any no. of errors are being traced by it. Benefits are too high as we are getting the bits without getting ibto the applictaion just by seeing the dashboard.

The APIs are still not so much matured. However it has rich coverage of APIs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Application performance comparison before & after a new release. The host specific metrics helped the team to catch & rectify the H/W issues much before the scenarios goes out of control.
