Describing my experience using IBM MQ
What do you like best about the product?
Using multiple queues and topics we can transfer the json and XML message, we can stop the server and download the message as well to check the application issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes application is slow and lags , which is not a suitable behaviour, also connectivity of queues and topics can be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Processing the XML and JSON message so that multiple data environments are interacted.
IBM Messaging Queue Service is reliable, robust and secure.
What do you like best about the product?
In our Organization for one of Banking Project we have used IBM Messaging Queue Service and we found the product very reliable, easy to configure and manage. We have entire Linux setup in our organization so we had installed IBM MQ service on Redhat Linux and its very easy to install and configure and the product is very much capable to manage heavy load.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall the product is one of the best in market but recently other competitive companies like Amazon provide much advanced features. Also,I found IBM Support process time consuming to resolve any issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing Banking Domain Project requires regular updates to the customer for any transaction done by Customer. Also, customer should be informed immediately after any transaction is done from his/her bank account. So,messaging quesue plays vital role to regularly update customer and that too on time.
High Availability combined with high functionality
What do you like best about the product?
IBM conintues to develop and enhance a messaging solution that provides high reliablilty across geographically-colocated and -dispersed parallel implementations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The provided adminstrator applications are an 80s-style command line processer and and 90's style graphical interface. These need to be brought into the 21st century!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our MQ Appliance 4-way implementation provides us with 99.999% - or more - uptime of our queue managers and their associated resources. This is a critical accomplishment for financial services firms such as ours.
IBM Mq is great tool for legacy platforms.
What do you like best about the product?
IBM Mq is helpful in reliablly sharing the messages across different systems. The dead letter queue helps in troubleshooting the failed messages.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacks modern features for instance it's not available as container image. Also lack of WEB UI features is also another area of improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps in delivering the messages across systems. It's helps to keep communication between multiple layers of application or between multiple applications.
Moving data become simpler with IBM MQ!
What do you like best about the product?
IBM MQ is a best data transfer tool in the form of messsages. Multiple organizations around the globe trust IBM MQ is a key factor to trust blindly to use this product in our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not see any major dislikes as of now while using IBM MQ in my organization. But, want to mention a few points which need to pay attention to. The first one is the ratio of data lagging and the second one is data quality while moving from one platform to another.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transferring a large amount of data is always a hectic and risk-oriented process for every organization around the globe. Using IBM MQ we can move these data from one platform to another very efficiently.
Awesome experience
What do you like best about the product?
Browsing queues is more easy.
Clustered Qs and Clustered mq
Clustered Qs and Clustered mq
What do you dislike about the product?
Putting xml in the queue should be one line
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Still not have this
Best tool to Integrate OBDX with T24 for Internet and Mobile Banking.
What do you like best about the product?
There were a lot of external banking systems communicating with T24 in Allied Bank Limited (PK), we couldn't manage each one with separate Middleware. So, we acquired IBM MQ and integrated all our external systems like OBDX (Oracle solution for Internet and Mobile Banking), INCHEQUES(Inward Clearing and Outward Clearing Software) etc through IBM MQ by configuring separate Queues for each system.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit expensive and sometimes IBM lags quick response if any support ticket is logged with them. Also, IBM Websphere is not easy to learn for beginners. It has a considerate learning curve. There should be a module that should send notifications to desired personnel for better monitoring and reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously when we were using in-house developed middle, requests were not coming to our core banking systems and we couldn't find the requests. Now after implementing IBM Websphere, we have successfully solved this issue. Now we have managed to process all the requests coming from all the integrated systems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Build UI for Linux operating systems like already developed for Windows Operating systems.
IBM MQ - IBM's rich and reliable messaging platform, Highly Reliable But Unaffordable
What do you like best about the product?
1) Reliability of the platform which guarantees once a message is pushed into IBM MQ, it will be definitely delivered to its destination.Message never gets lost in MQ.
2) Supports various modes of operation like point to point, publisher - subscriber, file transfer etc.
3) MQ GUI can be configured where you can get a view of all the messages being transferred over queue, number of queues, etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
1) Huge licensing cost.
2) Monopolistic behaviour of IBM.
3) It uses a push based mechanism wherein a producer pushes the message and any of the consumer applications that are subscribed to that queue are free to take the message. Hence, it lacks better control over message delivery to intented recipient.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1) Messaging platform which is robust, flexible and reliable.
2) Transfer data in an asynchronous format over different networks.
3) Enable interaction of different types of applications as MQ will act as a middleware application facilitating standardization over transfer of data over the network.
4) Provide strong security mechanisms to protect data from external threats when being transferred over the network.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
1) Would not recommend as it involves huge licensing cost.
2) Lot of open source and cheaper tools are available which give you the same level of performance. Hence, would recommend going for such tools rather than MQ.

Amazing experience of working on IBM MQ on Cloud
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about IBM MQ is that Messages are never lost. It doesn't matter whether there is some network issue or server down, messages will get delivered everytime.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes all messages are not consumed in queue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am in a banking domain and as per the requirement we need to send the notification to the customer for each transaction. And this can be achieved through IBM MQ.
