Easy backup management for physical and virtual machi
What do you like best about the product?
End user tasks are easy to perform and alerts you to success or failure. Able to split backup jobs into media pools and use multiple LTO drives. Also will backup VMs

Easy and reliable
What do you like best about the product?
Veeam made backups and restores a breeze. Instant restore was my favorite feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
If a backup job became corrupt there was no way to fix.

Creating a reliable disaster recovery plan

Veeam is the most reliable backup product on the market.

What do you like best about the product?
The e-mail alerts and status updates are very very easy to read making failure or troubleshooting much easier. The interface, though we're using an older version, is easy to use and intuitive. I love that I can use it with hyper-v should I choose to as well as with vmware.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit pricey. To my understanding there is no perpetual licensing option so renewal packages are not my favorite. I have since migrated away from the older version of VEEAM I was using and do manual backups on my new system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Server infrastructure backup. Easy disaster recovery and on demand recovery.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend really making sure that it saves you on the time AND convenience factor. Though - if you're managing any more than a few VM's it's a must!

Ease of use and direct SAN integration.

Absolutely nothing!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before we had started leveraging the Veeam Availability Suite we were taking and utilizing an old and antiquated tape library with offsite tape rotations. If we needed to take and recover data older than a week old it would take us days to retrieve and load the tape from our offsite storage provider.
What used to take days with our old Symantec Netbackup system with the Veeam Availability suite took minutes.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Veeam is best used for a very VM heavy environment. Though it does have backup clients for physical machines it is best used for virtualized environments.

What do you like best about the product?
How simply it is to learn, it's was smooth and help was there from VMware as well. But it was not neeeded.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost can be pricy but you really get what you pay for

I like the frequent updates that are fixing issues and introducing new features even free ones.

They are still working on integrating desktop and virtual backups in the same admin console.

Veeam works very good for VM backing up and is dependable in restoring items.

Veeam often has issues and when it has issues it can actually freeze or stall the VM causing severe degradation issues.

Ensure that you have the hardware to handle the excessive CPU consumption needed.

What do you like best about the product?
You can upload a VM snapshot with ease for a single item and also for multiple items. The good thing about Veeam is that you can choose which specific files to restore or simply restore the entire system or server. It can restore SQL and also exchange depending on what you want to recover from the lost data. . You will also be notified if any of the files is not backed up into the system so that you can go back and correct that error for efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
Minor, which means that we still get out the best out of the Veeam Availability Suite. I had problems with the exchange backup process where the databases connected to the system fail at times. When this happens, the entire process shuts down and you have to start all over again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data backup and protection is crucial to big and small businesses and Veeam takes care of it quite professionally.

Highly recommend for Disaster Recovery purposes.

What do you like best about the product?
This is new software, good for backup virtual environment. It is easy to use, the interface is friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Do not support backup Unix Solaris. I hope they will support more guest OS.

Easy to backup and restore VM. I love the feature ZIP VM and live migration.
