"Swis army knife" in the world of enterprise integration

  • May 23, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I can map any data format to any data format. There are also a multitude of connectors (not only the expected usual ones like file, database, MQ, JMS) but also more exotic ones (e.g. LDAP or different CloudVendors). There are also multiple ways to solve one problem, you can use different ones based on your knowledge.
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning curve, product is very powerfull but you need to be carefull to use the correct capabilities (e.g. MRM or DFDL).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick integration between (very) different applications. Trying to cover business requirements as soon as possible, with reasonable costs.

Good product that supports multiple protocols, formats

  • May 15, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. Support for different formats using DFDL. If you compare with Boomi or MuleSoft, IBM App connect is the best
2. Different ways of logging data [ log4j, custom exception handling, event monitoring etc]
3. Ability to process huge files irrespective of size using MQ and File combinations [like making use of grouping, segementation concept of MQ]
4. Easy configuration using yaml file [server conf yaml or node conf yaml]
5. There is a feature in the tool to generate automatic documentation which can sever as LLD. This will be more effective when the developer adds the details of the functionality in each of the nodes which can be turned into a documentation in few seconds
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Support for API analytics and API management is not present. This is where MuleSoft has gain momentum and has taken over the market. for IBM one has to rely on IBM API Connect which is a separate product

2. The documentation sometimes does not include any details or misses details which takes lot of time in implementing that feature or debugging issue related to that feature

3. Licensing cost is more compared to other products
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Integrating with multiple external systems using different problems
2. Transaction tracking by making use of event monitoring feature
3. Client has mentioned that their business has increased after implementing these solutions
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Cost is not just the only factor to buy a product.

1) If your company is specifically focused on only API stuff, this may not be the right product as you might have to rely on combination of ACE and API connect to get your requirements fulfilled
2) If your company is focused on ease of development, and support for different formats (CSV, XML, JSON, fixed-length, Tagged delimited etc.) then go for this ACE product. All custom formats can be easily built using DFDL with no extra cost. Industry-specific formats like EDI, HL7 etc are available at a premium price for any product.
3) One also needs to consider the development cost, maintenance cost, ease of development and enhancements needed

Great App integration software, connects your data quickly and very well

  • July 10, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
You can combine all your company needs on a single platform with the IBM App Connect. It enables all your data to be collected, custom functions to be created with API to assist simplify applications and trigger many events inside the application's life cycle. It is meant to connect several business applications so that each bit of data from different apps is synchronized in real time. The UI/UX of the apps management interface is also outstanding, the overall design makes operation easy and is possible to hop between various views, because everything from the same page can be accessed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Yeah, this is one of your greatest tools, but there are some flaws which really matters and should be rectified, because the cost is a little too expensive when compared to rivals that offer comparable services and equipment is not at brand height. There is not so much development and transformation capability. I believe IBM is interested in including some of the capabilities of the application IBM Connect in API Connect. Authentication is not near other tools like API AC management. The GUI needs to be enhanced. Perhaps the product team should look at the various API management solutions offered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We combine all of our commercial apps with some of our clients via IBM App Connect. Depending on the client's desire, we occasionally help them to establish and maintain your own IBM App Connect account. Expose on intranet/internet securely. Configuring the API Connect premises is much simpler. It is fairly straightforward to create the API proxy. Since this service helps to combine data stores from different application locations, it enables you to handle the data at once and the synchronization feature in real time helps to debug some of the scenarios quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
IBM is one of the leading companies in the industry. As the DataPower is the gateway, IBM API Connect may be simply included into the ecosystem by a company which utilizes DataPower as the gate. If you work on a large scale and have a variety of requests, this application will certainly help and save a lot of time to manage enormous datasets. This is the finest choice available in the market if you need to run a centralized data warehouse, because it provides a real time update and easy synchronization.

It is best to connect applications and manage data.

  • May 23, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is a data and applications integration system that offers the best services in its category. It enables you, by automating processes using the App Connect, to interconnect many apps and data savings of 60 percent. With App Connect, you can combine everything into one single API with more than one integration approach. It's also possible to share data using the IBM App Connect API. It has additional improved features such as assisting us to incorporate data from data servers into cloud facilities and servers. Both data are integrated into a single source for every specific application.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a little more pricey than its like, but it's worth it. I have nothing that I don't like about IBM App Connect if we talk about its operation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We frequently have projects in which data originates from more than one source and not from a single source. I utilize IBM App Connect for fusion of information from all sources, or rather for my team to construct this application using those data. To merge the data, I use IBM App Connect. It lets me select the integration styles and automatically does the remainder of the data integration. It also supports us in virtually real-time data administration and also produces an API that can be shared simply with the data source. The key benefit is that cross-platform data may be integrated with each other.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Instead, the use of IBM App Connect is easier when data is in a single format, and the use of IBMApp Connect can be converted to one source and can also be shared with other clients or businesses that use it. Ibm App Connect uses data from more than one source, which can only be used from one source. It also complies with various industrial and commercial privacy standards, including CSA Star, which is one of the key reasons.

Excellent for data integration and management

  • May 12, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This product is just fine. You will use only a press of a button when you want to find your data on the server, if you want to change your local data to the cloud and if you want the whole data collection to combine it into one. There is a wonderful user interface and none can run the machine and the customer service is one of the best that I've ever seen. It is user-friendly and encourages consumers to concentrate on creating business logic without infrastructure management. It supports a range of integration styles via batch and real time patterns.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest I didn't feel like I didn't like anything but that growth and transition capacity are not perfect if there are some aspects that can be changed already. If certain aspects can be changed now, the potential to evolve and transform isn't so strong. CA API Management is not similar to security functionality. The cost is high, which cannot be achieved for small projects, but I hope that the price should be lowered, I know it is an incredible product and it has many characteristics for its price, so if we were offered a discount it would be much more appealing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am working on a project that requires me to solve problem areas involving working in separate teams and I manage all my data from the cloud while the other department manages their data in a local storage, so we have had a lot of difficulties combining and uniting the data as they were structured in different forms.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For organisations that exchange data from many systems within a company, or to consumers, I would suggest IBM App Connect. It's easy, quick and secure. This is great for exchanging data between cloud and local storage. The cost is huge, but the functionality and service it provides are worthwhile.

What do you like best about the product?
As an enduring commodity, it takes everything from its precedent and integrates modern technology, including robustness, strength, reliability and scalability. The ITX plug-in node and sanitary networking kit have not been supported, however.
What do you dislike about the product?
ITX Plugin Node Support and Health Networking Kit are not yet available, I was informed that it will be available soon but no date. Lifecycle delopements and HIA configurations are available in older versions or without ICP.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can be assured with the release power that all relevant traffic can be handled without missing data and that our transactions are stable, with the inclusion of MQ. The advantages of the commodity have not yet been completely understood, but the reliability and results are thrilling.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is an excellent tool, robust, and flexible if you intend to use it as an older ESB, but it is not so strong in Kubernetes because of its footprint and weight. But I would recommend its introduction in general as it is secure, strong support staff and easy to understand. It is a safe platform.

Great product for data integrations.

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Facility for use as soon as the initial obstacle to integration is solved. Quite flexible in networking ability. The team is very sensitive and supportive in product creation. Early adopters (beta) are respected systems. It offers smooth integration and great communication skills. For some business-critical systems we have used it, and the IBM integration bus does the job.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was a smart decision to unbundle it from MQ. In recent years, the rate of licensing has increased considerably, which is bad. The commodity was still pretty costly. In this respect, cloud usage contributes to a significant reduction in the initial cost for smaller businesses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Typical ESB use scenarios. Connection of all onprem and cloud systems, centralized logging and tracking. Messaging systems between internally used software and some of the offerings of the vendors. In the coming years, we see the footprint will.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Small beginning. Before committing, it is free to download and review. Rapid integration with other IBM products, strong IBM support. It's pretty costly, but it's worth it, because it's working well.

Great application connector, excellent for data management.

  • April 06, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It simplifies the management of data from different servers. It lets us handle both data and data resources through the automation and simplifies us by automating different activities. It helps to build APIS and microservices from the data we have on various servers, so that we can use the data logically. It also allows the customer to have access to enhanced offerings and certain common integration models.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that the costs are high and that the IBM user interface is fluid, since IBM requirements are not in line with it it needs to be much improved. I believe that access to the API is restrictive and can be enhanced in a limited sense.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To primarily handle and create apis, I use IBM App Connect. Certain of our clients expect us to use IBM App Connect as their projects have already been subscribed to it. I used IBM App Connect to handle the flow of data between apps during application integration automatically. That is why several programs are delegated where data from many servers across the world must be linked. Instead, I use the ibm app connect to logically connect and use the data for the project like some other process. I have used it once to build microservices, which is almost identical instead of api.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a tool that makes it much less workloadable, I would prefer using IBM App Connect. It lets us integrate the data from different servers and it is also very good for lower manual processes and our specifications. The typical models it offers for incorporation are one of the aspects I like best about IBM App Connect.
