Quick and easy, hits limits fairly soon
What do you like best about the product?
It is super easy to spin up VM instances, and develop integrations using the tool. For something that takes 24 hours to build in node.js and deploy to IBM cloud, I could build the same thing and deploy in 4 hours.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is not suited for high volumes or large data sets at all. WHY DO YOU STILL USE FLASH FOR THE WEB GUI?!? The VMs get capped out really easily even at 16 GB ram and 2 vCPUs. Have to treat it very daintily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickly building and integrating between cloud (Salesforce, Concur, etc.) and on-premise (FTP, DB, JDE) systems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is an easy way to connect Cloud and on-premise systems using the various connectors. Build integrations quickly, for relatively simple use cases, but don't expect to be processing 100ks+ records at a time.
App Connect
What do you like best about the product?
Tool allows for solutioning of any use case I have been able to throw at it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ACE product suite seems good but the naming of all the products has changed so much lately its hard to keep up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Use it for real time integration.
Excellent New features
What do you like best about the product?
Connectors for each cloud based applications
What do you dislike about the product?
Havent done a lot of research to dislike the product yet
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The API management challenges we have at Belk.
Many years - many solutions
What do you like best about the product?
It robustes, power, stability, scalability, As a many years product it take all the good from the previous versions and adopt the new technologies.
What do you dislike about the product?
the delopment lifecycle, and the HA configuration in previous versions or with out ICP.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In banking business due to the powerfull throwoutput we can be sure to manage all the trafick needed without data loosing and with the added of MQ the confidence that our transactions are safe
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are planning to use it as an old fashined ESB It's a great, stable and versatile tool, but if you are planning to use it in Kubernetes environments it's not so good because it's footprint and weight.
best integration platforms
What do you like best about the product?
ease of use and the gui for defining orchestration
What do you dislike about the product?
less support for running without icp and is not other cloud system friendly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
healthcare
Limitations in App Connect Connectivity
What do you like best about the product?
App Connect provides a simplified user interfacce that allows flows to be developed between well defined apis and a growing list of applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
The principle problem encountered in the client integration which has used App Connect is linked to the simplifed user interface and significant limitations to the data transformation capabilities.
The use case we had required integration between Saas API's that required processing of blob data, App Connect was unable to provide a transformation mechanism from tge blob data which had to be performed within an IIB flow.
The extra complexity this entailed revealed significant limitiations in the App Connect UI; whilst maybe sufficient for simple integraitons the oversized components, palllet, canvas and properties became a hinderence during the development process, having options to size these would help immensely and provide a much improved development experiience.
We found further limitations as the taget Saas system had a fine grained API, which required many API calls for a single source system record, this compounded the issues described above.
The final soluotion was build the whole solution using IIB applications deveployed to App Connect via BAR files as Callable flows.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saas to Saas integration. The App Connect Cloud platform provides a low cost mechanism for a cloud based integration platform, but there are some limitations with the development UI and capabilities offered specifically with API consumption.
Good start, time to continue...
What do you like best about the product?
The push towards citizen integration with the workflow tooling. This is a good move in the market as competitors have this functionality already (i.e dell boomi)
What do you dislike about the product?
The adapters are too generic and there are issues when trying to customise them for adhoc requirements. Headers and file attachment processing is troublesome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
QUick and efficient integration for cloud SaaS software.
It's a great product for Microservices hosting
What do you like best about the product?
What is like most is the Reusability of the microservices
What do you dislike about the product?
IBM Level-1 support is not very knowledgage and for everything they need to reach out to the development and any queueestions or issue takes really long time to resolve
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reuse micro services
Integration Made Easy
What do you like best about the product?
Integrate applications effortlessly using pre-made nodes and even build your own.
What do you dislike about the product?
ESQL is too tricky to get some dynamic operations, and java is not the fastest option. Javascript may be a good option to work with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We connect the whole bank ecosystem through App Connect, centralizing services and bringing an omni-channel experience to our customers.
