Tenable.io Vulnerability Management
What do you like best about the product?
Identifying the Asset present in the Organisatikn with host discovery scan.
What do you dislike about the product?
All the features are good. We are using this product for vulnerability Management
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing Infrastructure vulnerabilities and Risk from Tenable.io.
Identify and prioritise your vulnerabilities.
What do you like best about the product?
The vulnerability priority rate applied to vulnerabilities is the most useful function included in Tenable.io. It lets us prioritise our threat intelligence vulnerabilities and not just CVSS related vulnerabilities. It goes further than finding exploitable vulnerabilities; it helps to bring the vulnerability into perspective, such as how often is it used? How recently weakness has been taken advantage of.
What do you dislike about the product?
The workflow may be easier to assist stakeholders responsible for the patch. When you allow various groups to log in to a console, you can only see their vulnerabilities, start your own scans and proof which ones have been remediated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tenable.io allows us to reduce corporate risk. Using VPR, a risk-based approach helps us to reduce vulnerabilities. This helps us to concentrate on the most risk-prone vulnerabilities and reducing resources used in low-risk remediation work. Tenable.io makes sorting and searching simple on vulnerabilities or properties.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure that the substance passes through but to run different kinds of scans and produce the records you might need and the remediation workflows.
Control your environment to find vulnerabilities.
What do you like best about the product?
This works well at a broad and granular stage. Discover the magnitude, sort, name, system, etc. vulnerabilities. This helps you to push the hazard to a minimum. If you incorporate patching and danger remediation on a scale with individuals and procedures, also Tenable is a successful result. If you have not already done so, please do so before you spend on a device. If you can do this even in your siesta and are strongly inspired and experienced enough to build your own automatic repair plays, pursue an answer that can lift you more heavily.
What do you dislike about the product?
The absence of playbooks or other automated weaknesses and risks is Tenable's greatest vulnerability relative to its stronger competitive power.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We cover a requirement to control our infrastructure with a requirement to conduct monthly vulnerability assessments. In addition, almost all our critical infrastructure needs an annual vulnerability evaluation, however, we can do so on a monthly basis with this method.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly reommend the tool to find vulnerabilities in your systems.
Tenable.io review
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful item in Tenable.io is the web application scanning. I also like the asset view where you can perform discovery scans of assets in your environment. We used the cloud connector with Azure to find additional assets that we were not scanning.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful item in Tenable.io is the dashboard and reporting. I prefer the dashboard and reporting in Tenable.sc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving problems of addressing the critical and high exploitable vulnerabilities. This has helped us to mitigate risk in our organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend Tenable.io to all organizations who want to ensure you are scanning your external network for vulnerabilities.
Tenable.SC formerly SecurityCenter
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and ability to aggregate data
What do you dislike about the product?
the reporting of asset information isnt user friendly if you're looking for complete asset info
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Continuous Vulnerability management
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I've been using tenable.sc for nearly a decade in multiple arenas. Easy to use and user friendly! Quality Vulnerability Data
Great, cloud-based. Keeps pace with Cloud and container technologies.
What do you like best about the product?
I love how it's easy to use and fairly intuitive (newer interface).Love that I can scan my AWS and GCP assets without issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Bit of a learning curve, but nothing insurmountable. It's a little confusing that some of the pages are still in the classic interface, but they are moving everything over to the new interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visibility into our several cloud accounts and expanding around our containers/Docker/Kubernetes infrastructure.
It does the job.
What do you like best about the product?
Tenable.sc provides nice reports of Nessus scan results
What do you dislike about the product?
When an OS update requires a system reboot in order to apply it, there's no notification of this fact. That sometimes leaves the system running a vulnerable kernel or system library.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run three scanners, each in a different network segment, and generate reports on all scans from one location.
Tenable SC and Vulnerabilities
What do you like best about the product?
Once Tenable is set up and you familiarize yourself with the product, it provides insights into your vulnerabilities that you simply will not get elsewhere. With this information, you can align your risk appetite to how you will attain your goals in vulnerability and patch management. The tool provides a wealth of data, but it is up to you to make it useful for your organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tenable does require lots of maintenance. As with any tools that has repositories of data, you have to become knowledgeable with what works and what doesnt. Also, be comfortable with its capabilities and those that it lacks. Once you do that and learn how to leverage the data, then its great. But it does require lots of time to keep it in a great shape.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems my organization solves with Tenable are vulnerability, patch and threat management. We have leveraged the information from Tenable reporting and have now aligned our vulnerability and patch management standards to it. This makes sure that we are keeping up with internal SLA metrics. We have also used it to mitigate and manage risk. This helps us prove to our leadership and auditors that we align with our organizational risk appetite and also that we consistently work to improve on our risk landscape.
Awesome product, abysmal support.
What do you like best about the product?
The software itself is great. It quickly and easily identified vulnerabilities and helped us patch them across our wide area network. It was fairly easy to deploy although our was a bit more challenging than most as we do not have a hyper-v or esxi environment to deploy the VMs on. So we had to go old school and spin up a CentOS Linux server which support was not to familiar with and there wasn't a lot of documentation on. But even with those challenges, once up and running it was very simple to use and run some very powerful network vulnerability scans on all endpoints throughout the wide-area network.
What do you dislike about the product?
The support I have received from both the technical support team and my dedicated CSM was, as I said in the title, abysmal. I had an issue that was essentially stopping the entire product from working and I had a security audit doing on and both support entities could no have cared less. They were, at best, aloof and unconcerned to the issues I was having with their product and at worst blatantly and willfully indifferent and apathetic. Even after I explained the time constraints I was under, there was no escalation of the problem or even any escalations in the frequency of communications. I've seen some bad technical support and customer service, but Tenable takes it to a whole new level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems I am solving is the vunerablities through my network and getting them resolved and patched in short order.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The product seems really good. We were looking at adding the LCE (Log Correlation Engine) at the time we had our last issue with Tenable.sc. But due to the horrific customer support, we will not be renewing and looking for a different product to fit this need. I would recommend to potential customers to steer away from this one and look at some others.
