Best Collaboration Product

  • April 29, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Miro is the ability to synchronously and asynchronously work with your team anywhere in the world at any given time and everyone is on the same page, always. Email, chat, task tracking software always means something gets buried in the long chains of back and forth, Miro is totally different. MIro makes everything visual instead of textual, placing your company in the seat of the customer vs the strategist. Miro helps clarify the objective of a project so the final product reflects the team's goals, not just the loudest person in a meeting or the person who spams the inbox the most. Miro keeps adding features and they deliver them in a really nice way on the platform. The new video tool allows everyone to just be on miro instead of searching through email for the call invite.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of templates available on the platform but Miro could be even more powerful if there were thousands of more templates available to the users. This would really help users who want to use Miro for everything be able to instead of not having the time to set up a board from scratch.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brainstorming, Product planning, team collaboration, efficiency with the timer, process documentation, yearly and quarterly planning.
Miro has a timer feature and it keeps everyone on the call on task and present. Virtual meetings are meandering at best without the Miro timer.
We were working remotely for about 2 years prior to finding Miro. Miro energized the team around creating and launching products.
So many employees would create documents and processes in their heads and nobody could fill their seats on a sick day. Miro helped us document all the job functions in the company with easy to read visual aids and endless notes. The limitlessness of Miro allows for small and massive projects all to happen on a single platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The user base of Miro is very collaborative by nature. Reach out to other users if you need help, they are your best allies.

Seriously the best white-boarding app I've ever used.

  • April 29, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The app has a super intuitive design, and they update it regularly. I love that it feels like actual whiteboarding but better because you are not wasting postit notes and cards. Also the dot voting is super simple. I like that i can call all the users on the app to my location and we can turn on voice and just talk about it. I also love how simple it is to see the changes that have taken place while ive been gone.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to get someone to talk with about your plan. The plans can be confusing. I keep having to add people and remove them. They make it easy enough, but it's hard to get a handle on how many users you need and when you should use the flexible people plan or what. I cant wait for them to make the boards available offline. Thats one issue I've had for a while. Other than that there are some small improvements they can do but its I feel like we need to give them time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can hold meetings with different teams, do all kinds of design and product planning with Miro. I have personal and business boards, and it's easy to share boards. We use it for idea generation, sharing ideas and designs, there are so many areas taht we are working in and with Miro all of those ideas can live in one place and be linked to, so sharing them and editing them is super simple. It even allows for bookmarking to the originial site. I have used a bunch of other apps before this, but none have been so intuitive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try it and you will see that its the best white-boarding app on the market. Its simple to use, easy to onboard and collaborate. You will wonder what you were doing before Miro. I have turned a bunch of people onto it and all are satisfied.

Powerful, simple, logical

  • April 29, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MIro enables real-time collaboration via a "smart whiteboard" type interface. And it is wicked smart! The tools are intuitive and alway operate as expected even though you may have nested and grouped diagrams and text. It's expansive canvas allows huge diagrams and supports more than ample room to express ideas, status, results and so on. Also, the free tier is plenty powerful for all but the most demanding teams. I honestly don't know how they do it. Bravo.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to come up with something that I would request a change on. Sometimes the background moves when I want to move the foreground, but they have handy locking features for this and I doubt one could come up with a more obvious interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I design apps with miro and coordinate teams based around the world. It's a big win.

Best virtual whiteboard

  • April 29, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use
Others can access without all needing a license
Temporary licenses available if greater access by guests is needed
Flexibility to create whatever I want that I could create in a 2-dimensional environment in person:
Paste forms and brainstorm over the top of them
Build process maps with arrows that stay connected
Create PICK lists
Create Kanban boards
Have others vote on the items in a brainstorm confidentially
Easy import from a spreadsheet
Easy export of data in multiple formats
Save and categorizing boards
Users can continue to access boards after the meeting to brainstorm or review
I can lock boards or control access
I get notification if a board is changed via email
What do you dislike about the product?
some shortcut keys are difficult to remember
some things seem to act differently for different users. Mouse scroll zooms in and out for me while for others it scrolls board up/down.
I tend to click on a sticky and try to type, but I need to double-click on it
Wish it would work in IE11
I wish adding a thumbnail of a region of the board as the cover for the board was quick and easy
I would like to see a 2-minute tutorial that would step new users through some basic functions, and maybe additional tutorials accessible for intermediate & advanced users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brainstorming in a virtual world
Interactive process mapping in a virtual world
SIPOC and other Continuous Project planning in a virtual world
Conserving paper
Easier interaction, especially for people who didn't want to get out of the comfort of their seat when live
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look no further

Changing how collaboration is made in this covid environment

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

A Reflective Pane of Glass

  • April 29, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro helps me to easily publish and update content to stakeholders. This has become my reflective glass where I add content from so many places to help reflect where we are, mark-up and collaborate on this content and reach new audiences with the content. I especially like the way I can have a massive canvas and then send a link to just a part if it. IN workshops er often zoom out and back in to areas and I have increasing levels of detail that I paste into Miro. I love the way you can upload pics, links, videos, PDFs and more and then so easily rearrange them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the pricing structure is a little opaque and doesn't help me in deciding how to deploy and structure my boards. SOme of them I have lots of viewers and for some boards I need a core team to collaborate and contribute to and the cost model I have access to does not easily allow me to both differentiate between them and also make the most of sharing knowledge and collaborate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easily disseminating content from multiple locations to underpin business architecture and business design coaching. The benefits yielded have been a greater global understanding of our business goals and alignment around next actions. Also throwing up templates of next actions, value chains and decision templates that are then captured elsewhere!

I live and work in miro

  • April 29, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the infinite flexibility to make big messes, distill ideas down to presentable frames and have a record of everything in between.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am fortunate to have a trackpad that makes navigating and zooming within the workspace a breeze, but users who don't have this hardware have a more difficult time moving around.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been able to take all of my physical/analog work online, do the same work but faster and with collaborators around the world. I am using it to take notes, build affinities from stakeholder and contextual inquiries, brainstorm personas & journey maps, create storyboards, and even keep track of project schedules in miro. I even use it for hobbies, primarily as a visual method to tracking musical ideas, arrangements, lyrics, instrumentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The Miro team is constantly improving and upgrading the service and always has solutions ready, even for edge cases most people wouldn't need. The software has evolved very elegantly, such that a new user can quickly jump in and start creating, while die-hard users are able to expedite their work using the tool more efficiently every day.
