Barracuda Email Security Gateway is the best available!
What do you like best about the product?
Barracuda Email Security Gateway is so easy to setup and manage. It filters our email quite well with the default filters and we can easily add more specific filters if we need them. I feel we are so much better protected now than before. We really haven't had any issues that required customer support, but I am sure it will be as great as the product is when we do need it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Barracuda Email Security Gateway really doesn't have any negatives that I have found. It works and it easily integrated with our Microsoft 365 email. I guess the only negative thing I could say is I wish it was perfect and never let anything bad through, but that's just not true of any product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed more security and filtering on our incoming email to help ensure we didn't get any malware or other bad emails through to our users. Barracuda Email Security Gateway help greatly with that need. We also needed an easy and secure way to encrypt outgoing emails that are sensitive or contain sensitive information and Barracuda Email Security Gateway handles that perfectly.

Best of the On-Premise Solutions
What do you like best about the product?
The ESG appliance is easy to use and administer in situations where you require an on-premise solution. Support from Barracuda has always been good when we have needed it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems like this product is being put out to pasture as the on-premise solution seems to no longer receive meaningful updates beyond security updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Blocks thousands of spam emails per hour.

Easy to use piece of software to use for blocking spam/fake emails.
You can allow any blocked emails through with a click of a button

You can only search back maximum 1 month for any emails received.

We get 100's of emails a day coming through so its good to know that Barracuda Email Security Gateway is scanning them all and blocking spam/un wanted emails before they reach your inbox

Its a very known and widly used product in Email security.

It has to changed the MX records. Which is not good.

What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally, it mistakenly identifies genuine email activity as positive when it's actually negative, resulting in potential financial harm. The cost is also unaffordable for a company of moderate size.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This product provided a complete solution for email protection. I was able to filter malicious email traffic using inbuilt and custom patterns. Also, the encryption facility was helpful in encrypting sensitive business content.
Decent antispam, easy LDAP integration and email encryption
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to setup user accounts via LDAP. Also love how easy it is to configure encryption via plugin, keyword, or defined patterns. Definitely an improvement over the mcafee saas email protection we used to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hate having to deal with reverse dns entries for sending servers, I would think that setting up some kind of DNS TXT record to validate the domain, or the IP being included in the published SPF would be enough

I can't think of anything that Barracuda Email Security Gateway is doing to unplease our company.

It works in reducing number of malicious attachments and phishing attempts via email

Not the easiest to coinfgiure and setup and deploy

Reduces instances of phishing and delivery of infected email attachments
Works good, could be easier to administrate
What do you like best about the product?
It does block most unwanted emails. The more we use it, the more we are pinpointing the accuracy of the scans. We still get the occasional false positive. most times it is a bad(or no config) on the sender's server.
What do you dislike about the product?
Adminstration can be slow on the web interface, especially when adding domains to the black/white list. I wish you could add multiple domains and then hit save.

Blocking unwanted emails and protecting the organization from bad attachments.
Barracuda features help prevent spam emails
What do you like best about the product?
It helps prevent spam emails while also letting me know who they are from and the subject line. The site lets me choose whether or not I want the email delivered or the sender blocked permanently
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Barracuda gets it wrong - recently it blocked someone I had already received several emails from. I had to go in and add them to my approved sender list

It prevents spam emails from being delivered, which ultimately makes the server safer
