Reliable n fast db solution
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to deploy, Scalable , able to handle multiple schemas and instances , avoids redundancy, secure and high availability
What do you dislike about the product?
License is expensive, external applications requires to create clusters
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Back end for apps, handles large volumes of data with ease, adapters to connect with other technologies
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use db2 if you are looking for a scalable multi user , fast and secure db.

Wonderful product
What do you like best about the product?
The way it runs in multi-platform like Windows, Unix, Linux etc and has disaster recovery methods is providing the reliability of IBM.

Nothing much for now. Every edition is designed for a particular kind of user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this as a backend data system used in our application integration process where frontend application interface deals with the customers or users and this Db2 use to store the data in bulk

The DB2 is faster in terms of the product development with fast server update

The thing we do with DB2 is product development for billing systems and I realized that it's a fast system and great green screen

Great for IBM integrated software

The transaction speeds are high and it is good for targeting ibm specific systems, however, is outdated and less flexible than newer offerings in the market.
What do you dislike about the product?
Less scalable for more modern apps, which is why most people are going away from traditional rdbms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Java applications use this for the backend data in legacy applications. Helps with generic functionality and workflows.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would steer towards oracle or MySQL for traditional relational DB systems, and consider db2 a little outdated.

We worked on ACS123 Production Compliance System. Production Status is stored in IBMDb2

Very good Relational database for Large Enterprises like APL, Gap etc.,
DB2 DBA friendly
What do you like best about the product?
I worked in the large transaction processing industry workin with DB2 and Oracle. DB2 combined with other IBM supporting infrastructure is one of the top databases regarding performance. Also, i find db2 tools and management DBA friendly compared to other database products.
What do you dislike about the product?
Few might be dislikes, one if them is DB objects permission management where you need to grant access for every new objet intriduced for some low level access users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it in the main production transaction processing environments with very few failures per year.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is DB2 and Oracle on the top, and i suggest DB2 after working with both of them!

What do you like best about the product?
I like meta data information stored on SYSIBM tables..which tells us INDEX or KEY fields for a table
What do you dislike about the product?
IBM DB2 Could be more user friendly. Please look into that aspect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working on and Maintaining Benefits Administration data. It is stable and provides good consistency for Data as RDBMS Platform.
