The best DB for Mainframe legacy system
What do you like best about the product?
Working with Db2 is very easy as it allows all the database features of Relational database management system. It is the database of legacy system which can be used with Cobol, AS4 etc. It is easy to learn for beginners and designed to store , analyze and retrieve the data efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are lots of great as well as efficient monitoring tools in DB2, but nowhere it is mentioned which one is recommended by iBM. Its hard to find good Db 2 DBAs for a new project unlike oracle or SQL server DBAs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is easy to install and deploy with tons of redbooks and whitepapers available on internet. Db 2 is cheaper compared to oracle or other databases. The maintenance cost is cheap as well including hardware up-gradation is also very cost effective.
